The information below tells you how you may use this community website (referred to as the “Site”) and how you may participate in this online community (referred to as the “Community”). Please read these terms and conditions (the "Terms") carefully before using the Site and participating in the Community.
By using the Site and by registering as a member of the Community, you agree to be legally bound by the version of these Terms in force at that time and confirm that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any of our Terms or our Privacy Notice, then you should not register on or use our Site.
Please note that we may update and amend these Terms from time to time and the current version of these terms will be posted on the Site. It is your responsibility to ensure you review these Terms regularly to familiarise yourself with any changes. Your use of the Site and participation in the Community following any such changes will constitute your acceptance of the revised Terms.

The Community and the Site are provided to you by Research Bods Online Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number7642707 whose registered office is at 4th Floor, 21 Queen Street, Leeds, LS1 2TW (“ResearchBods”). For some communities, ResearchBods may partner with other research agencies and/or our clients (“Research Partner”) to bring you the Community. Details of any Research Partners will be notified to you on the Site.
ResearchBods owns all rights and interests in the Community and the Site. Reference to “ResearchBods”, “we”, “us”, and “our” are references to Research Bods Online Limited.
References to "you" or "your" mean you as a member of the Community (“Member”) and user of the Site.
Membership in the Community is free and is open to individuals only (not corporations or other business entities). Only one registration per person is permitted.
If you are under 18 years of age:
you must have your parent's or guardian's permission before using our Site; and
you must read these Terms with your parent or guardian to make sure you and your parent or guardian understand and agree to these Terms; and
your parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf before you use our Site.
In order to register as a Member, you will be asked to provide certain information about yourself including your name (forename and surname), your personal email address and your date of birth. You promise that all information and details provided are true, accurate and up to date in all respects and at all times.
You will also be asked to create a unique user name and password. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your user name and password. You must keep your password confidential and you must not disclose it to any third party. We will not be responsible where your password is used by someone else. You should notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your user name or password and any breach of security as soon as you become aware of it. We have the right to disable any user name or password, whether chosen by you or allocated by us, at any time, if in our reasonable opinion you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these Terms.
Please read our Privacy Notice and our Cookies Notice posted on this Site, which contain important information about how we use any personal information about you that we receive through your registration and participation in the Community and use of the Site.
If there is any inconsistency between these Terms and the terms of our Privacy Notice and Cookies Notice, the Privacy Notice and Cookie Notice will prevail to the extent of such inconsistency.
To manage and administer the Community and the Site and to allow us fulfil our obligations to you under these Terms, we may communicate with you by email, SMS message or by posting notices on the Site. You agree to receive communications from us electronically in this way, and that electronic communications will satisfy any legal requirement for communications to be in writing.
By using the Site and participating in the Community, you agree that you will only do so for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You further agree that you will not:
use the Site to in any way infringe the privacy or other rights of any other person;
use the Site in any way that may lead to the encouragement, procurement or carrying out of any criminal or unlawful activity, or cause distress, harm or inconvenience to any other person;
do anything that subjects the Site, the Community, Research Bods or its Research Partner(s) (where applicable) to any derogatory treatment or brings (or might bring) the Site, the Community, Research Bods or its Research Partner(s) (where applicable) into disrepute;
do anything that may cause damage to the Site or our servers, systems or equipment or those of third parties, nor access or attempt to access any users' data;
misuse or do anything that disrupts all or any part of the Site, including but not limited to knowingly introducing software viruses, trojans, worms or other material that may be technologically harmful; and
penetrate, remove or otherwise alter or interfere with any security measures that we use to protect the material and content made available via our Site, or attempt to do so or assist any other person in doing or attempting to do so.
You agree to compensate us and/or our Research Partners in respect of any damages or losses suffered by us and/or our Research Partner as a result of any claim made by a third party relating to (a) your use of the Site and/or Community in breach of these Terms (or any other applicable terms), or (b) your violation of any applicable law or regulation when using the Site.
You promise to us that you are authorised to agree to these Terms and any other terms that apply to the use of our Site (including but not limited to our Privacy Notice and our Cookies Notice and/or any specific usage rules that may be posted in relation to any content or material that you access via the Site, the Community and/or any third party terms).
The Site may incorporate certain content that is generated by Members of the Community (including you) ("User Generated Content"). You acknowledge and agree that:
our ability to control the User Generated Content is limited;
we do not endorse User Generated Content and cannot guarantee that it will meet the standards that content produced by us would ordinarily meet; and
any views expressed in User Generated Content do not necessarily reflect our views.
Consequently, neither ResearchBods nor any Research Partner accepts any responsibility or liability for any User Generated Content or any actions or omissions that you may take in reliance on it.
If you wish to submit any contribution to the Site or upload any content such as any text (including, for instance, on any chat rooms or forums or on any classified pages), photographs, graphics, video or audio to the Site ("Submission"), you agree that any Submission you make must not contain:
anything that may have the effect of being harassing, threatening, abusive or hateful or which degrades, discriminates against or intimidates an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, disability or any other legally protected characteristic;
anything that infringes the rights of a third party;
any third party content such as music, third party trademarks, logos, location signage, or photographs, artwork or sculpture unless you have consent from the owner to include that third party content; or
anything that is in any way defamatory, obscene, unlawful, harmful, offensive or inappropriate or that would constitute a contempt of court or expose us to any civil or criminal proceedings.
By making a Submission, you grant us and our Research Partner(s) (where applicable) a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive worldwide license to use, copy, edit, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, make available, communicate and distribute that material (in whole or part) and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed. To the extent permitted by law, you waive your moral rights (e.g. the right to be identified as author or to object to derogatory treatment) in any Submission you make.
You further agree that you will not endanger yourself or others or take any unnecessary risks in order to produce or make your Submission.
ResearchBods and our Research Partners value our Members opinions and to show our appreciation for taking part in our surveys or research studies/activities (including surveys, polls, discussion rooms, focus groups, diary studies, product tests) (“Research Activity”) you will be offered incentives which may take the form of points, prize draws or other rewards (“Incentive”). Details of the Incentive and any additional terms and conditions relating to the Incentive for a Research Activity will be communicated to you on the Site or at the start of the Research Activity.
ResearchBods and/or our Research Partners may disclose confidential and/or proprietary information and materials to you as part of a Research Activity. Such information and materials shall remain the sole and exclusive property of its owner. This confidential information may include, but is not limited to, new product ideas or concepts, packaging concepts, advertising and movie or television concepts or trailers, and the text, visual images and sounds related thereto. By becoming a Member, you agree that you will keep the contents and materials disclosed to you as part of all Research Activities in which you participate confidential and not disclose them to any third party or use the confidential information for any purpose except for the sole purpose of completing the Research Activity. If you breach this obligation, in addition to forfeiture of any rewards, points or incentives you may have accrued and termination of your account, you may be liable for monetary damages to ResearchBods and/or our Research Partners for damages caused by the result of your breach.
You may terminate your membership at any time by unsubscribing from the Community. This can be done by going directly to your ‘Profile’ page and clicking “close account”.
If you close your Community account, your profile information will be removed, you will be unable to access the Site and you will no longer receive emails from us. In addition, you will forfeit any incentives or rewards that have not been administered at the time you opt out.
The termination will take effect up as soon as reasonably practicable following receipt of the unsubscribe notice, and in any event within 5 business days thereafter.
We may close the Community when the research programme ends or is cancelled. We will inform all Community Members by email of the Community being closed, at which point your access to it will cease.
We also reserve the right to suspend or terminate your Community membership, or your ability to access to the Site immediately and without notice at any time, at our sole and absolute discretion. This may be because, for example, we consider that you have breached these Terms or any other applicable terms.
You can decide to stop receiving emails from us at any time. The easiest way to do this is to click on the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of any of the emails. You can also send your unsubscribe request to the email address detailed in the “Get in Touch” section on the Site or via the online form in that section. Once you unsubscribe you will no longer receive emails from us, however you will still be a Member of the Community and able to use the Site.
You can update or amend any of your membership information via your “Profile” on the Site.
The Site and the Community are provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. We cannot promise that the Community or the Site will be free from errors or omissions, nor that they will be available uninterrupted and in a fully operating condition, or free from viruses or other harmful components. We make no guarantee that all or any features of the Site or the Community will work on any particular device.
Any content or other materials included in the Site do not, and are not intended to, amount to advice on which you should rely. Consequently, we do not accept any responsibility or liability for any actions or omissions that you may take in reliance on such content or materials.
By using the Site and participating in the Community, you agree to release ResearchBods and/or any Research Partner (where applicable) from any and all liability whatsoever arising in any way from your use, misuse or inability to use the Site or the Community.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither Research Bods nor any Research Partner will be liable in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise for any loss or damage whatsoever in any way connected with your use, misuse, or inability to use the Site or participate in the Community, including without limitation, any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, expenses or losses of whatever nature, including damage to software or hardware, loss of data, damage for loss of business, loss of profits, or any other indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these Terms will:
restrict your statutory rights as a consumer (including your rights to receive a reasonable standard of service, more details about which can be obtained from your local Trading Standards Office or Citizen's Advice Bureau); or
limit our liability for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence or our liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or misrepresentation as to a fundamental matter, or other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Nothing contained in these Terms grants you a license or a right to use any copyright, trade marks, design rights, patents or other intellectual property right owned or controlled by Research Bods, any Research Partner, our respective partners or any third party, except to the limited extent necessary to access and use the Site and the Community.
These terms do not create any rights that are enforceable by any person who is not a party to these Terms. For the avoidance of doubt, ResearchBods and any Research Partner (where applicable) may enforce these Terms.
If we and/or any Research Partner (where applicable) decide not to exercise or enforce a right that we or they have against you (e.g. as a result of you breaching these Terms), this does not prevent us or our Research Partner (where applicable) from doing so at a later date.
If any provision of these Terms is found by any court or administrative body of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable then that invalid or unenforceable part will be deemed deleted from these Terms, such invalidity or unenforceability will not affect the other provisions of these Terms and they will remain in full force and effect.
These Terms are available in English only and are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Disputes arising in connection with these Terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
ResearchBods may provide links to third-party websites as a convenience to you. ResearchBods’ providing of any link does not constitute an endorsement by ResearchBods of such site or vice versa. You agree that ResearchBods is not responsible for examining or evaluating the content or accuracy and ResearchBods does not warrant and will not have any liability or responsibility for any third-party materials or websites, or for any other materials, products, or services of third parties. You agree that you will not use any third-party materials in a manner that would infringe or violate the rights of any other party and that ResearchBods is not in any way responsible for any such use by you.
Any Member can report an abusive comment using the ‘Report’ button on the Site. The ‘Report’ button is positioned next to every individual comment made by every individual Member. Members can also report abuse directly by sending an email to the email address detailed in the “Get in Touch” section on the Site or via the online form in that section.
